I believe in Jesus. That belief shapes most of the rest.

I enjoy a wonderful life with my wife Monica.

I preach and teach bible classes at the Edisto Island Church of Christ, where I get to spend real time in scripture with people I love. Some of what I find in our studies turns up on this site—the smaller pieces: a passage that opened up unexpectedly, a word I hadn’t looked at closely before, a connection between two texts I hadn’t seen. Rarely the finished sermons themselves.

I earn a living as a CPA, running Killen & Associates—the firm my father started decades ago. Before the accounting, I was a software developer and web designer, which explains why someguy.us exists at all. I’ve been quietly building things on the web since the mid-nineties and never quite stopped.

What lives here now is short: poems, small reflections, notes from the corners of software I still like to tinker in, and the scripture study I mentioned above. No schedule, no promise of volume. If something you read here is useful to you, that’s a gift.
